CAC-EXPOSITION AT AARAU

The horse-track at the Schachen in Aarau offered a
magnificent background for a dog exposition - thanks to the beautiful
summer day - not to think of what it would have looked like if
the show had taken place one week earlier - when torrents of rain poured down all day.
But on this beautiful day the image of a big camping area
with many dogs was created.

Thanks to the tent that Roland und Nadja Kleiner erected all
Contis and their owners were very comfortable. the tasty bakery offered

was very welcome and contributed a lot to the pleasant mood.
Heartfelt thanks to Roland and Nadja!!!!

Since the greater part of the dogs presented to Mrs. Mach participated also
in our club show, the qualifications of Sunday are here not cited
with the reference to the Club page in this Website.

125th JUBILEE OF THE SWISS ST. BERNARD CLUB
PARADE of all Swiss dog breeds on June 6, 2009 at Martigny

 Around 14h00 all Swiss breeds assembled on the place of the CERM - (Centre d'Exposition et de Réunions, Martigny) for the preparation of the Jubilee parade. Petrus demonstrated dog-friendliness as the thunderstorm-clouds disappeared for quite some time. Apart from the numerous St-Bernard dogs and all the Bernese-, Appenzeller-, Entlebucher- und Swiss-Mountain dogs, the various breeds of the running dogs for the hunt and the White Shepard dogs, there were also 13 Continental Bulldogs. The dogs carried collar and leash in red with the Swiss white cross and their masters were clad in the Club-Logo-T-Shirt and black trousers.
To the great regret of all participants, a lot of whom had gone to great length to put together carts with flowers and wearing the traditional clothes etc. the parade had to be shortended as entry into the center of the town was not allowed - not even the ''Avenue du Grand Saint-Bernard'' was permitted. A shame really...... However, along the road there were a lot of spectators who commented positively when the Contis marched by and there was in general a lot of hand clapping

A very nice and well organised exhibition that provided ample space for animals and exhibitors,
fantastic but very hot Summer weather - which contributed a lot that the Parade of all Swiss breeds in
the athletic stadion became a real highlight.

Our Contis as the youngest Swiss breed entered the Stadion as the last group and were presented by the Speaker
as an exemplary development for the well-being of dogs. He wished the breed further success and
expressed his hope that it will soon be recognised also by the FCI

On Sunday the weather was even hotter - so that the Swiss breeds were called into the Stadion individually
to permit the other breeds to remain in the shade while the Speaker finished with the presentation of each one -
Because on Sunday the number of the Conti Group was quite respectable, the presentation by the Speaker was
even more elaborate than on Saturday and again he wished the breed and the persons responsible for its creation
all the best and the recognition by the FCI in the very near future.
